The vision of the training institute is to endow individuals with the spiritual insights, knowledge, and skills required for the spiritual, social, and cultural progress of their population.
Inspired by Bahá'u'lláh's teachings, the institute seeks to build communities founded on the oneness of humanity, freedom from prejudice, and the integration of worship and service. It seeks to raise a new social actor — a protagonist of personal and social transformation — who assumes responsibility for their own learning and contributes to a better world founded on justice and equity, where diversity is celebrated as a source of beauty and the rights of every individual are safeguarded. They learn to see every human being as a "mine rich in gems of inestimable value," applying the insights of both science and religion to read their social reality and enact solutions for the spiritual and material progress of civilization.
-
The institute's primary mandate is to endow growing contingents of individuals with the spiritual insights, knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the diverse tasks of community building. Its goal is not the mere accumulation of converts or information, but the spiritual and moral empowerment of individuals so they become "active agents of their own learning" and "protagonists of personal and social transformation"
-
The curriculum is organized around the concept of a "path of service," which sets individuals on a journey defined by the community’s accumulating experience. This path is characterized by:
A Twofold Moral Purpose: Participants are encouraged to simultaneously attend to their own spiritual and intellectual growth and contribute to the transformation of society.
Integration of Study and Action: The vision holds that understanding of the Word of God increases manifold when study is joined concurrently with acts of service in the field.
Collective Movement: The path is not walked alone; it is a community endeavor where individuals of different backgrounds and "paces and strides" accompany one another in a spirit of mutual support.
-
The training institute seeks to provide a "seamless coherent educational experience" from age 5 to adulthood, through three distinct but interrelated stages:
Children’s Classes: Focused on the refinement of character and the spiritual education of the youngest members of society.
Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program: Assisting those aged 12–15 to develop their intellectual and spiritual powers and prepare for a life of service.
The Main Sequence of Courses: Enabling youth and adults to develop the capabilities to contribute to the advancement of civilization.
-
The ultimate vision of the institute is to raise up a new type of social actor whose actions are inspired by a vision of a new world civilization based on the principle of the unity of the human race. They learn to look at every human being as a "mine rich in gems of inestimable value" and to use the "power of the Word" and the "methods of science" to read and transform social reality.
-
The institute’s pedagogy is rooted in the basic nobility of the human being and the transformative power of the Word of God. It rejects the dichotomy between "being" and "doing," emphasizing that spiritual refinement and social action must be joined. The learning process follows a continuous cycle of action, reflection, consultation, and study. This methodology ensures that the curriculum is not a product of abstract theory but a record of learning generated in the field of service.
